Molten Glass on Wood Large Bowl

This molten glass large bowl is handcrafted in Bali using recycled glass and natural gamal wood, creating a decorative piece shaped by traditional artisan techniques. Inspired by current trends for natural and house-plant-led interiors, it brings together flowing glass and organic wood in a balanced, sculptural form.

The glass is hand-blown and shaped while still molten, then carefully relaxed directly over the gamal wood base. As it cools, the glass hardens to the contours of the wood, ensuring a natural and secure fit. Each piece is formed using hand tools, resulting in subtle variations that make every bowl individual.

Designed as a versatile display piece, this bowl works well for stones, air plants, cut flowers, or as a standalone decorative centrepiece. The raised wooden stand adds height and presence, making it suitable for tables, sideboards, or open shelving.

Because natural materials and handmade methods are used, no two pieces are exactly alike. Small air bubbles, light surface markings, and variations in wood grain are part of the character of this design.
